INTOUCH

INTOUCH
Is "BIBLE" the word of GOD ?

Jesus' crucifixion, was it not a 'crucifiction' ?

The 'Gospel' in the Bible. Was it written by the desciples of Jesus ? or someone else had written using their names ?

What was the fate of Judas Iscariot ?

He hanged himself or fell headling on the ground that he had acquired with the reward of his wickedness, burst open in the middle and all his bowels gushed out ?

What about the genealogy of Jesus ?

Is there any discrepancy in the Biblical narration of facts and figures ?

If so, is there any errors in the Divine Scriptures ? Will the Supernatural Power commit mistakes ?

If the Biblical scriptures are written by the original inspiration from God Almighty, there leaves no room for committing errors. But why there are lot of literary and scientific irrational statements in the Bible. Is there a word "BIBLE" in the 'Bible'. Definitely NOT. The word bible is derived from the Greek word 'Biblos'. which means 'book'.

Are the 'Old and the New Testaments' in the Bible, divinely revealed scriptures ?

If so, it must be free from inexplicable contradictions and there should be no doubt about their content nor about their authors. If it gives clarity, then it can be considered as reliable sources of information concerning the message and the person of Jesus Christ. In case, the authenticity of the contents in the Bible are doubtful, then is it worth to follow the humanly manipulated and adulterated scriptures ?

Is the Bible - Authentic Manuscripts ?

Many scholars from different Christian denominations are still debating on this subject. In the light of their discussions, it has been documentd that much of the material in the Bible is of doubtful authenticity.

In the "Myth of God Incarnate" ( Anthropomorphism ), the editor wrote the following: " In the nineteenth century, Western Christianity made two major new adjustments in response to important enlargements of human knowledge: it acepted that man is a part of nature and has emerged within the evolution of the forms of life on this earth; and it acepted that the book of the Bible were written by a variety of human beings in a variety of circumstances, and cannot be accorded a verbal divine authority."

U.S. News & World Report, quotes that most of the Christian scholars are of the opinion that over 80% of the words ascribed to Jesus in the Gospels may be apocryphal ( doubtful) that includes Jesus' Eucharistic speech at the Last Supper ( "Take, eat. This is my body ....") and every word he is said to have uttered from the cross.

( The word 'gospel' is derived from the Anglo-Saxon term god-spell, meaning "good story", a rendering of the Latin 'evangelium' and the Greek 'euangelion', meaning 'good news' or 'good telling' [ The New Encyclopaedia Britannica, Vol.5 p.379 ]
