MISCONCEPTION Let us find out the meaning of "Those nearest to God"
"NEAREST TO GOD" not physically or geographically, but spiritually compare this with "And (Jesus) sat on the right hand of God" (Mark 16 - 19 ) [ Mark 16-19 is now expunged from the RSV as an interpolation] The majority of Christendom has misunderstood this verse as well as many others in the Bible. They imagine the Father [God] sitting on a throne - a glorified chair and His "son" Jesus sitting on His right hand side. Can you conjure up the picture? If you do, you have deviated from the true knowledge of God. He is not an old man with a long beard and hair. Just understand that He is a spiritual Being, beyond the imagination of the human mind. He exists. He is real, but He is not like anything we can think of or contemplate. In eastern languages "right hand" meant a place of honour. It can be interpreted as "IN THE COMPANY OF THOSE NEAREST TO GOD" From the above verse, it has to be confirmed that Jesus is the CHRIST and that he is the WORD which God bestowed upon Mary. Again the Christians presumes these words, with a meaning which they do not carry. They equate the word "CHRIST" with the idea of a god incarnate, and the word of God to be GOD. The word CHRIST is derived from the Hebrew word "Messiah", Arabic - Masih. Etimological derivation of the word m-a-s-a-h-a is 'to rub' or to massage, to anoint. Priests and Kings were anointed when being consecreated to their offices. When the word 'CHRIST' gets translated in the Grecian form, it seems unique and most befitting to Jesus. to be continued.......................... |
